Although this wedding took place during peak forest fire season, a picturesque moment of matrimony was held in the smoky, forested landscape of Bend, OR. The PNW is well known for its awe-worthy views, snow-capped mountains, serene lakes, and trees. Unfortunately, many of these pristine views were covered up from view by an advancing blanket of smoke and soot. Both the bride and groom kept a positive attitude and worked with what they had. The silver lining was that the venue itself was so captivating, all of the wedding photography could happen right there.
At Skyliners Lodge, a popular wedding venue, a close-knit group of family and friends gathered amongst the trees in the Pacific Northwest to celebrate the lovely couple, Kaylee and Caleb. I was fortunate enough to get to capture this special occasion for them via my wedding photography services. Each magical moment, every step of getting ready, the first look, the ceremony, the first dance…each memory they created, I got to allow them to keep.
The bride-to-be spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids, popped some champagne, slipped on her wedding dress, and prepared to enter the next chapter of her life-pure wedded bliss. The groom buttoned his tux and readied himself to marry the love of his life. I was poised and ready to capture their first look at each other. It’s a moment I never grow tired of. Tears filled their eyes and sentimental words were shared in an intimate moment they’ll be able to look back on for years to come. The photography styles I was able to provide allowed for us to get some incredible single shots as well of both the bride in her wedding dress, twirling her veil and letting the train cascade out behind her, and of the groom, looking dapper and ready to be moving into the role of “husband.”
The newlyweds got to celebrate their first few hours of marriage surrounded by their loved ones, with a breathtaking backdrop of pine and fir trees. The bride, groom, and all their guests danced the night away, with the entire forest filling with joy, laughter and excitement for Kaylee and Caleb’s future-what a wonderful way to start a life together!
